I’ve been spending some more time with Digi 995: Kart Race lately, and if you played an earlier version of the game, it might be worth taking another look.
There is considerably more here now.
What started as a fairly straightforward mobile kart racing game has expanded with more tracks, additional power-ups, Cup Races, larger AI-filled racing fields, more racers and vehicles, and two themed expansions: Night Freight and Spookyverse.
The basic formula is still exactly what you want from a kart racer.
Pick a character. Choose a kart. Get on the track. Try to finish first.
But there are now enough different courses and gameplay options that Digi 995: Kart Race feels much more like a developing racing game rather than a small collection of races.
More Tracks Make a Big Difference
One of the most noticeable improvements is simply having more places to race.
The game now features tracks with very different themes, including Desert Speedway, Antarctic Way, The Void, Neon Circuit, Toxic Swamp, Rolling Plains, Corrupted Eldoria and others throughout the Digi 995 universe.
That variety matters.
A good kart racing game needs tracks that actually feel different from one another, because learning the courses is half the fun.
Desert Speedway has a completely different personality from something like The Void, while Antarctic Way changes the atmosphere again with its frozen environment.
The more you play, the more you begin recognizing where you can maintain speed, where you need to be careful and where you might have an opportunity to move ahead.
If you’re looking for a mobile kart racing game for Android, the additional courses make Digi 995: Kart Race a much more interesting game to revisit.
The Power-Ups Keep Races Unpredictable
Of course, this is kart racing, so simply being the fastest driver doesn’t guarantee anything.
Power-ups can completely change what happens during a race.
You can be sitting comfortably near the front and suddenly find yourself trying to recover. On the other hand, a good power-up at the right time can give you exactly the opportunity you need to make a comeback.
That randomness is part of what makes games like this enjoyable.
There is always that temptation to run one more race because you know the next one could play out completely differently.
The growing selection of offensive, defensive and speed-related abilities also gives you more to think about than simply grabbing an item and immediately using it.
Sometimes timing is everything.
Cup Racing Gives You Something Bigger to Win
Another addition I like is the Cup Race system.
Instead of treating every track as a completely isolated event, Cups connect multiple races together.
The Awakening Cup, for example, includes three races.
That changes how you think about the competition because one victory doesn’t necessarily mean you have won the entire thing.
You have to remain competitive throughout the Cup.
Have a bad race? You may still have an opportunity to recover.
Win the first event? You still need to perform in the races that follow.
It’s a simple addition, but it gives the game a stronger sense of progression.
AI Racers Keep the Tracks Busy
One problem mobile racing games can have is depending too heavily on other human players being online at the same time.
Digi 995: Kart Race uses AI racers to help populate the field, which means you can still have a fuller racing experience without waiting around for enough people to join.
That works particularly well for a game designed around quick sessions.
You can open it, select what you want to race and get started.
It also gives you an easy way to practice different courses before worrying about more competitive play.

Night Freight and Spookyverse Expand the Game Further
Digi 995: Kart Race now has two expansions that push the game beyond its original collection of content.
Night Freight brings its own racing theme, characters and vehicles.
Then there’s Spookyverse, which is probably the more immediately recognizable of the two because it leans into a darker Halloween-inspired look.
Spookyverse adds themed environments, racers and vehicles while still keeping the same arcade kart racing foundation.
The important thing is that these expansions make the game feel like something that can keep growing.
Instead of every update simply adding another isolated track, the developers can build new sections of the wider Digi 995 universe around different themes.
That gives the game plenty of room to evolve.
Easy to Play, But There’s Still Something to Learn
Digi 995: Kart Race isn’t trying to be a racing simulator.
And it shouldn’t.
This is an arcade kart racer.
You’re supposed to be able to pick it up, understand what’s happening and start having fun.
But there is still a learning curve underneath that accessibility.
You start learning the tracks.
You get better at using power-ups.
You learn when to attack and when to defend.
You start recognizing situations where saving an item might be better than immediately using it.
And then you start chasing better finishes.
That progression is what keeps a simple racing game from becoming boring after a few sessions.
Digi 995: Kart Race Is Worth Another Look
If you tried Digi 995: Kart Race when it was smaller, the current version is worth revisiting.
There are more tracks, more racers, more vehicles, more power-ups, Cup competitions, expanded AI fields and two themed expansions.
And if you’ve never played it before, there’s now a lot more content waiting from the beginning.
